Hiking East of Fishtrap Lake

This hike is near Sprague, Washington and is easy to access from I-90. It should be really beautiful in a few weeks when the wildflowers are blooming! I only saw 3 buttercups today. I also saw a Great Horned Owl, lots of Robins, Mallards, Magpies, Pheasant, 2 Elk, several Canadian Geese, and I heard Redwinged Blackbirds and a Meadowlark.

Final Shots of Snake River/Hells Gate

Joeseph Creek

Grande Ronde River

Just a bit of snow left further upstream.
No green as of yet!

This is as high as I got hiking from river level without a trail.

Across the Grande Ronde River you can see the basalt layers

Journey South Through the Palouse Country

The following photos are from my journey yesterday to the Snake River. This first patch are on the way down towards the Pullman and Lewiston areas. It was quite a bit warmer and no snow along the rivers. The hillsides nearer the river are begining to green up as well. The Palouse
